Guide To Cuts Of Pork

The Fourth of July is all about good food, family and friends, and celebrating this beautiful nation we live in. Many people celebrate this great day with outdoor activities, delicious food and beverages, and a mouth watering meal cooked on the grill. The Fourth of July is just not the same without some form of barbeque.

Exercise, a healthy diet and avoiding stress are the three most important ways you can ensure you are living a healthy lifestyle. Prevention is also a good thing to take on board. Have regular checkups with your doctor and dentist. Go for your pap smears/prostate checks, breast exams and any other examinations that will help you to catch early any potential hazards to your health.

Here as in many other misconceptions about canine nutrition, we confuse a dog's digestive and immunity system with our own. The truth is that dogs have powerful stomachs and a digestive system that can handle much more bacteria than we can. In addition, their immune systems are built in such a way that bacteria does not impact them in the same way.

Plan breakfast the night before. Even setting out the boxes of cereal and bowls can give you a few extra minutes in the morning. You can do so many things for breakfast if you take a minute the night before. You can cook oatmeal in the slow cooker (see Alton Brown's slow cooker slow cooker pork ribs oatmeal recipe and make your own adaptations ) You can also make French toast the night before and pop it into the oven to bake while everyone wakes and dresses.

Cooking dried beans on the stove top can be a hassle. It's a project that takes all day and requires constant care. When you use a crock pot, you simply soak your beans, place them in the pot, and cover with water. Then cook on low until supper time.

bbq ribs seem to be the passion of many. Today I share a recipe that was designed for ribs but I have rewritten and used for chicken. (If you want to use it for ribs this makes a 2 pound slab) My favorite chicken to use is the thigh. They have the most flavor and are easy to handle on the grill. If you are a fan of those boneless skinless chicken boobs feel free to use them. It is your mouth that's going to eat them. You will note I have suggested Your Favorite BBQ Sauce...that is basically because everyone's taste buds crave a different version of the sweet and spicy sauce. Y'all best roll up your sleeves, take off your rings, wash your hands, and let's get cooking.

Another cut of rib is the slow cooker pork ribs riblet. This cut results from cutting the baby back rack in half lengthwise with a meat saw. They generally are cut into 1 to 2-inch wide strips and are great for grilling. Ask your butcher to cut them for you if you want these as it will make your life considerably easier!

Now the cooking ribs are ready to be rubbed. There are many different rubs on the market or you can make your own. Here are some common ingredients in rubs for pork. Usually the base spice is paprika and if you like your ribs a little spicy you can add a little cayenne pepper. Brown sugar in a rub is a must as well as salt, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, ect. Find one that you love a go with it.

We all know that it's healthier to make bread from scratch rather than buying sliced bread at the store, but who has the time? You may think that it takes forever to knead bread dough and that you just don't have that kind of time. A stand mixer is wonderful for this and so much more. A stand mixer quickly kneads bread dough, allowing you to serve fresh bread whenever you'd like. You can also buy attachments that will allow you to make homemade pasta, sorbets, and even fresh ground meat.
