Jack Link's Teriyaki Beef Steak Nuggets Are Amazing!

That's an stewing beef nutrition data question to answer even if all you've ever done is make chicken stew with your slow cooker. It's just so dang simple and the food tastes better when cooked slowly and evenly in a crock pot.

I found all of the above when I purchased a bag of Market Pantry Thin Steak Slices. This product is found in the freezer section of the store, and it contains 14 ounces of slow cooker braised beef and carrots slices and onions. The bag has a handy zipper style closure along the top, so it's easy to get out enough for one or two French Dip sandwiches, and put the rest back in the freezer.

This recipe serves four people. If you want to use beef, tenderloin is good. Alternatively, you can use a tougher cut like stewing steak and simmer the soup for a longer time. If you prefer pork, try bacon or belly pork.

There are so many ways to do this, but let's discuss about one particular topic that always seems hectic. Dinner time. Every Sunday I sit with my children (great time to just talk and bond) and we go over cookbooks and recipes that I've collected. (If you don't have a cookbook, go out and get one with slow cooker braising steak, or one for casserole dishes. Great time saver!) We pick out our favorite recipes, throw in a couple of new interesting ones, and then I head to the grocery store to shop for the ingredients of the recipes we've decided on. Late evening Sunday's are a good time for shopping. Notice I wrote that I go. Alone.

Now, I'm really going to get out there. How about a chocolate covered apple? Imagine sharing that with your true love. We have a store here in City Market called Savannah's Candy Kitchen and, daily, they make the best candy apples anywhere, in my very humble opinion. If I were you I'd pop open a cold bottle Italian Prosecco, entwine my arms around my gal, then sip and chomp...at least. The Prosecco is similar to the Brachetto but it's white and will do yummy things for the apple. A nice, dry riesling would be good as well...it just won't have bubbles.

This recipe is very easy to adjust to your liking. If you want to add other ingredients, that is fine. Some people enjoy tomatoes in their beef stew. My family prefers it without, and that is why I did not include tomatoes. Some people do not like peas, but I love the flavor and color they add to the stew. Some people throw in a bit of chopped celery, which is something I do from time to time.

If you really want to kick the flavor up a notch, take a few extra minutes to make some "gravy" with the drippings from the crock pot. When you remove the meat, pour the excess liquid into a bowl through a strainer. Put that liquid into a pot on the stove, braised meat bolognese gently boil it until the liquid volume has reduced by roughly half. Add a few tablespoons of flour to thicken it up, and you've got the best taco sauce possible!
